Re: Blue Prayer Beads

I'll say it again, it wrong for us to expect every poem to be autobiographical.

One day I'm a sailor

The next I am a botanist

One day I'm a young girl the next a wizened old mina.

Approach a poem on its merits, never mind who it's about.

Re: Blue Prayer Beads

When will critiquers get it into their heads that a poem is not autobiographical. This isn't an agony-aunt letter box where people share the horrors of their lives neither is it a chat site to share problems. It is a poetry forum where people post most often fictional and/or imaginary poems with a d...

Well done Bob, lovely poem.
You are on fire lately.

That link did not work by the way, I had to look you up with the search window.

Re: Tribute from a Wooden Hut

No need for an encyclopaedia, Caleb, a good map of South Wales would do for the names of rivers and bays. R. S. Thomas is a famous contemporary Wales Poet. Gossamer Beynon, Polly Garter and Captain Cat are all characters from Dylan's story 'Under Milkwood'. Blodeuwedd a famous woman from the Mabinog...

Re: Tribute from a Wooden Hut

I put it on the Block about 5 years ago Bob. Bernie loved it. I guess I didn't have enough confidence to put it out. Thankfully wiseowl.art found some merit in it and published this day in March 2024.

Thanks Bob, I value your input and continuing support down through the years.

Tribute from a Wooden Hut

I was here on the cliff at glan-y-mor, his reverie. Below, the boathouse, washed a pastel shade of lemon doused by sea mists of the Afan Taf that meander into Carmarthen Bay. He sat and wrote window open to the sea across the marsh from Black Scar the farm at Pentowyn, and Craig Ddu - Black Rock. La...

*****
Just found this and thought it written by someone else
when in fact it was written by myself although I only
vaguely remember writing it. I thought it awfully good
actually. Better on here rather than in my desk drawer
as it were.

Fluid Leak

COVID-19 Test Caused Man's 9-Month-Long Brain-Fluid Leak From the magazine: 'Live Science' No one enjoys the spillage of a blocked drain overflowing with rain. Re: A Mother Writes To Her Daughter, In Europe Somewhere With Her Friends

I am supposed to be away on hiatus But in my misery I look for beauty and solace I find this an extraordinary poem about a relationship formed by an invisible bond between mother and daughter and full of metaphors about flowers. The poet's love of flowers shines through, but the intimate relationshi...
