Last Game of the Season
v2: Last Game of the Season Under high clouds we wave our thunder sticks. I recall biking to this stadium as a kid, the air stuttering from baseball cards pinned to my spokes. When the team won it was like the clouds parting, an omen of good things to come... The game is different now. I will never ...

Sometimes more is more. I like the tone. But as a reader new to your work, I would ask who is Em? Why is she seeing a psychologist? How are Em and Ieuan related? Adding some background would help.

Re: Mating Flamingos
I really like your ideas, Michael. "Partnering" for the title sounds good. I like your opening a lot...question, should it be pose en pointe or pose en pointe a la pirouette? I also find the little black dress intriguing, but can't decide if it works better or not. Thank you for your work...your ide...

Partnering
v2: Partnering Dressed in tutus of sumptuous oranges, reds and pinks, the ladies pose en pointe à la pirouette as if photographers were hidden in the rushes. They promenade gracefully, like the rich at country clubs wanting to be noticed. These flamingos rest, wade, glide between appetizers of shrim...

Re: Kadaneri Ayyanar
I like many of the details, as here: Residing in a small temple in the middle of sparse vegetation where Banyan and Palmyrah trees render life but the poem would be better if you trimmed out the telling lines, and left the details to render the emotions....an example of telling: An experience quaint...

Re: Visiting Sandburg's Homeplace
The more I read this, the more I love it. Especially the last 2 stanzas... but I like all of it except for the Gloria Patti reference. I googled but couldn’t find a Gloria Patti. I like the line about Sandburg preaching to the goats. A very strong poem...

Kite Flying
Kite Flying It’s kite flying I enjoy most, running with you through parks. You fly ahead as if scouting the next turn in our path while I shout your name, trying to rein you in. In a sudden sigh you fall, exasperated by my inability to keep up--whether it’s jogging or trying to follow you on flute. ...
