Re: Death of an Armed Guard (version 2)

Out of the department store come two armed guards toting cash receipts to a waiting truck, when out of the air itself explode two thugs brandishing guns. The guards scatter, but scattering doesn’t save them on this otherwise lovely day. One thug shoots, one guard falls, face down on the ground with...

Re: The Pilot Whale

A sad day for N, Bob, a bad day. It is thought that algae cause the problem in their brain a kind of poison fungi in the sea, a bloom. I saw one once, washed up on the beach massive animal, unbelievable in scale compared to us. I know plot whales are smaller, much smaller, but still larger than us. ...

Thanks, Bob, it's my first Zine publishing.
They added standard punctuation and a photo for me too. I'm quite impressed.
I will repost the poem here in February.

Re: I Don't Give You Any Answers

I've heard the puppy squealing all these years.
There is no logic in this sentence.
A puppy will grow up in six months.

Could it be, 'I've hear puppies squeal all these years'

or does it mean the memory of a puppy squealing is still with N.

It an abuse poem anyway and gives little away.

A Poem from Simon

Simon Costello - Contemporary Irish Poet of Renown (i.e. he's still alive) T axidermy Ethics for Beginners Outside a dog is hollowing out the chest of a cat that’s been knocked down by one of the neighbour’s vans who even now I’m certain will never come forward and admit to it but while I watch this...

Re: Wish You Were Here

OK
Bernie used to give volumes of replies, insightful and informative
and one forum complained all the time his replies were too long
as if it cost them more for a long reply compared to a short reply
and I thought poor man, he's dying and he's doing his best.

Marvellous poet, just saying.

Re: Dif-tor heh Smusma Version Two

After eight long years of pondering I have rewritten this poem. The original version listed by Michael in post #2. This reads like the 2nd draft of your other poem posted, Faith. Yet, neither is anywhere near your writing of poetry. Moreover, neither are the reading & writing of poetry: I haven't re...

I have one bottle of Whiskey, Bob.
It's not an expensive brand I'll admit, but it's not bad.
I'm not big on spirits anyway, just a sip now and then
if I have a cold or a bit down.

I won't undertake such a project again, Bob. I only did it to please my wife.
And I am not a builder. I am a mechanical engineering worker by trade.
And undertaking such physical work at 70 almost wore me out.

Much better Bob, if you don't mind me saying.

I still feel beer is more earthy than anything with a scent. smell is ore earthy maybe.
Pub in the KK have an earthy smell, and drinkers of beers, up to 20 pints in a night, smell earthy
a not unpleasant smell. But it is your poem and I bow to you way.

Re: William Davenant.  Shakespeare Was More Than Godfather To Me

It may benefit the reader to make mention of the Crown Tavern in Oxon. The first line being confusing. Use the name of his parents for clarity sake. Oft Shakespeare dropped by the Crown Tavern at Oxon enjoying time with my parents Jane and John Davenport on his way to Stratford-upon-Avon n. He loved...
