Bride of Frankenstein

#1 Post by BobBradshaw » 20 Jul 2020, 02:53

Bride of Frankenstein

I see him through the window:
jagged stitches, yellowish complexion,
and a face as somber as a fresh
dug grave

lumbering my way.
Dr. Frankenstein assures me
he's as sentimental

as a weeping cello.
Yet I know the moment
he enters the room,
and enunciates
"Friend"

my stunned heart
will drop to the ground
and I will scream my head off.

V1:
Bride of Frankenstein

I see him through the window:
jagged stitches, yellowish complexion,
and a face as somber as a fresh
dug grave

lumbering my way.
Dr. Frankenstein assures me
he's as sentimental

as a weeping cello.
Yet I know the moment
he enters the room,
and enunciates
"Friend"

I will scream my head off.
My shrieks so shrill
even flying birds
will suffer heart attacks,

and like my stunned heart
drop to the ground.
