...gnawed at a hang nail
bit his lip at a stubbed toe
scratched his arse absently.
Like other men, he dreamed
a simpler life, maybe a new boat,
weekends at the shore.
He took a lot of pride
in his work, the village carpenter,
and no one said his rate was unfair.
And if he desired a better station,
nicer things, a bit of prestige,
he never said.

LOVE this characterization of Jesus as Everyman. Just wanted a bit of prestige! Priceless

Thanks Bob. There are always those eager to take offense at a poem like this because they pride themselves on piety

Hi Kenneth,
I like representations of the Messiah as carnate.
I believe the prodigal son parable is
autobiographical.
And his first encounter Resurrection Sunrise was with Mary Magalene - no coincidence - and very romantique
