Meridian Too-Far

#1 Post by Billy » 02 Jul 2021, 21:24

Meridian Too-Far

Her husband
talks with a customer.

I'm there to inquire
about a Chinese remedy
for indolence.

Dance-like, she
chooses leaves and pods
from opaque jars

labeled in characters
I'm amazed anyone
can decipher, blends

with mortar and pestle.
She takes my hand
like young Miss

Donahue, my third
grade teacher,
to impart a lesson

about the world.
She lets go when
late light in the window

is obscured by clouds
gathering just as her
husband looks our way.

Yes. Good poem. Suggest Mercator rather than Meridian.

Thanks Bob, Kenneth

Kenneth, I used meridian because it’s a term used in acupressure and acupuncture. There are meridians to your body.
