Genesis Revisited

#1 Post by Kenneth2816 » 16 Nov 2022, 08:54

We were once just dust in
the nasal passage of God
who snotted out the first
of our kind in an English
garden in dire need of weeding.

And when he awoke, the divot
in his side was browned-over
where the hand went in, drew
out the bone, and now there

are seven billion of us, enough
they say, to build force-shields,
a tower that reaches to the moon,
or a giant boat for all the animals.

Ha! I love that opening stanza. The language! “Snotted our”…love it. Who would have thought? And dust in the nasal passage of God… uniquely imagined.

We were once just dust in
the nasal passage of God
who snotted out the first
of our kind in an English
garden in dire need of weeding.
